Hello Minor

hello

Sticking with the darker theme, Hello Minor are set to release their newest collection of T-shirts tommorow. Featuring the usual mix of strange graphics this collection sees them put their own bizarre twist on the classic Misfits logo, Damien Hirst’s diamond skull and a re-release of the gun-toting Mickey Mouse that got them a lot of attention last season. Ten new designs in total.
Available direct from the site as of tommorow and retaillers worldwide over the coming weeks.

Hanna Liden

In the spirit of Halloween I thought I’d post the photography of Swedish born Hanna Liden, who is now based in New York.
Hanna’s got quite a dark and creepy style that Ive always been drawn to for some reason.
More of her work can be seen on the Rivington Arms website.

Gsus

gsus

“At gsus we truly believe in the arrogant intuition of the creative mind. Our designers create what they want to wear themselves. Market research is taboo. We do what we like best and feel strongly about the “do it yourself” credo. That’s why we unleash our creativity not only with the designing of clothes, but also with our ads, photography, gsus store designs and even the design of the Amsterdam Headquarters. Although we’ve grown over the years, we still consider gsus our creative laboratory, or better yet, our “heavens playground”. A place where we can let our creative juices run free. We recommend you to do the same. Join us and let the world be your playground”

Alakazam

“Alakazam is a creative project which grew organically out of the touring exhibition by two London based illustrators, Will Sweeney and Susumu Mukai. “Alakazam” is a word traditionally used by magicians when casting a spell. As the word suggests, the exhibition presented the unique worlds of two artists who derive their work from a rich language of the surreal and fantastic. The project takes on the concept of the exhibition further and will keep presenting new and experimental ideas and aesthetics through t-shirts, other products and creative events.”

Varoom

“Varoom – the journal of illustration and made images is a magazine devoted to exploring the world of illustration and image-making. It looks at practitioners from around the world who are making significant contributions to the ancient art of illustration, and provides writers, commentators and illustrators with a platform from which to take a critical look at trends and developments in the illustrated image.”

Only a year old but already one of my favourite magazines, Varoom covers illustration in all its forms from around the world. Art direction is by the guys at Non-Format so you can always expect excellent content and layout.
